Shinjuku Alley

This photo intrigues me. I'm not sure exactly what it is about it, but I'm drawn to it whenever I visit *ForwardObserver's gallery.

There's a lot to love about this; the green overtones, the point of view, the dark lighting, the type on the road. All very simple, and yet seems to set the stage for something much larger. It almost reminds me of a still from Fight Club, or a movie with similar tones (minus the foreign type on the street).

Much of the shot is out of focus, which I would typically be nit-picky about, but I feel it actually works in your favor here, especially since the type is in focus. It leads the eye, which is quite awesome. Even though I have no idea what language that is, or what it says, I feel intrigued and wish I could venture further down to road to discover more.
